We'd like to wish everyone a very happy new year. This year marks the Year of the Ox - a year which sees fortune favour those who work hard and we are pleased to say we are already hard at work to bring you an exciting season of Aston Martin Asia Cup racing in 2009.

Looking back on 2008 the introduction of the Aston Martin Asia Cup was a thrilling new chapter for Asian motorsport, providing high octane racing and a nail biting Championship contest eventually won by Japan's Kota Sasaki in the Team Reckless Aston Martin. Pushed all the way by Sri Lanka's Dilantha Malagamuwa, Kota's victory in the world's first ever one-make Aston Martin series was a piece of motorsport history. Spirited drives by race winner Mel Choo and his fellow Singaporean podium visitor Ringo Chong where echoed by the ever improving Kuo-Tong Hsieh (Chinese Taipei) and Malaysia's Tunku Hammam.

The Concord Energy team made great strides thorughout the season with Nas Muzayyin clinching the Rookie Of The Year Award. With IMSS Racing, Eric Cheung, Frank Yu and Andrew Luk joining the season from the Singapore F1, the AMAC grid never failed to entertain. The series was also proud to welcome a number of celebrated guest drivers including former F1 driver Christian Danner and British star Danny Watts.

With the support of Michelin, Dura, Powerbuilt, Racing International Logistics and Graham of London, 2008 has established a firm base for the series to grow on.
